30 May 2013: Photographic Exhibition at Castello di Ameglia

From Friday, May 31 to Sunday 2 June free entry is available to a photo exhibition of the participants in the contest "VerdeeAcqua" at the Castello di Ameglia. More than 45 photographs of La Spezia drawn from nature, landscape and flora on the themes of "green" and '"water" will be on display. The competition will be judged by a jury composed of representatives of the City of Ameglia and the Park of Monte Marcello Magra, by Marzia Ratti, director of the Institution for Cultural Services of the Municipality of La Spezia, the founders of "The Marrana Environmental Art ", and Matthew Carassale, freelance photographer contributor to the magazine" Gardenia ". The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 2 at 12, while the exhibition will be open Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 from 16 to 20 and Sunday, June 2 from 10 to 13 and from 16 to 20. 28 May 2013: Catch Rossini at Pietrasanta

Gioachino Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle is being performed on Saturday June 1st in the Cathedral of St. Martino in Pietrasanta as part of the Cantiere della Musica FLAM. Soloists will include soprano Laura Peschiera, contralto Valeria Valdenassi , tenor Carlo Messeri, and bass Cesare Kozlowoski, with the choir "Collegium Vocale Monilia. The performance will be conducted by Fabrizio Ghiglione, accompanied at the piano by Andrea Vulpiani and at the harmonium by Matthew Golden. Admission is free.

The performance marks the ninth year of the Cantiere della Musica FLAM, which is organized with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca, the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, Lucca Province and the Municipality of Lucca.

27 May 2013: Bagnone a front runner in ZeroCO2

Together with other 11 small towns in Spain, Greece and Portugal, Bagnone has become part of the European project "ZeroCO2 Communities" that supports small towns in a program of best practice for energy efficiency and the use of renewable sources of energy.

The project includes a program of local initiatives that will allow Bagnone to join the leading group of European local governments that have signed the "Covenant of Mayors", an association that pursues the goal of the so-called "20-20-20" (up to 20% energy savings, 20% reduction in CO2 emissions and produce 20% more energy from renewable sources by 2020) to combat climate change and reduce the rate of CO2 in the atmosphere.
