Together with other 11 small towns in Spain, Greece and Portugal, Bagnone has become part of the European project "ZeroCO2 Communities" that supports small towns in a program of best practice for energy efficiency and the use of renewable sources of energy.

The project includes a program of local initiatives that will allow Bagnone to join the leading group of European local governments that have signed the "Covenant of Mayors", an association that pursues the goal of the so-called "20-20-20" (up to 20% energy savings, 20% reduction in CO2 emissions and produce 20% more energy from renewable sources by 2020) to combat climate change and reduce the rate of CO2 in the atmosphere.
